Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This course uses a method that has been taken by many entrepreneurs and corporate leaders and has proven effective in human resource development and entrepreneurship development at over 200 companies, government agencies, universities, etc. Through the creation of art (abstract paintings) based on a theme and appreciation of other companies’ works, students\u00a0 will improve their “creative thinking skills” and “creative communication skills” and acquire the basic skills to creatively carve out their own future while collaborating with a diverse range of others. In this course, you will develop six core 21st-century skills to empower you to create your own future and co-create a world of human flourishing with diverse people from all walks of life.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kimi Hasebe<\/strong>
Founder & CEO, White Ship, Inc. \/ Director, ELAB<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kimi founded White Ship in 2001 with artist Kunihiko Yazawa with a vision to harness the power of art to create a sustainable world of human flourishing. She has designed and implemented programs based on the EGAKU method for over 26,000 participants spanning children, students and business professionals. Since 2008 she has implemented programs based on the EGAKU method for over 200 companies at White Ship, and has led program and curriculum design for programs for students at middle schools, high schools, universities as well as professional development programs for teachers and educators.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mari Mori<\/strong>

After completing her undergraduate studies at Meiji University School of Commerce, Mari joined Nippon Boehringer Ingelheim as a medical representative. She subsequently worked in corporate sales the clinical research organization, Mebix and consulted for pharmaceutical companies at health-tech company, MedPeer. Mari holds an MBA from Globis University and is also a certified coach. Mari joined ELAB in 2023 and hopes to use her own experience of transforming her life and career, to support people and organizations on their journey of transformation and growth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ryoko Nakamura<\/strong>
Director, White Ship, Inc. \/ Director & Head of Global Projects, ELAB<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryoko joined White Ship in 2013 and is head of global at White Ship, she also leads global projects and partnerships at ELAB. She is passionate about exploring the role of art in human development in all its dimensions. Prior to joining White Ship, Ryoko worked in various global investment management roles in Hong Kong, New York, London and Tokyo at Goldman Sachs, TPG Axon and Deutsche Asset Management where she focussed on sustainable investments in Asia. Ryoko holds a Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Oxford.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hiroko Takahashi<\/strong>
Executive Director, ELAB \uff0f Nationally qualified career consultant (Japan)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing her undergraduate studies, Hiroko joined MUFG Bank, Ltd. where she had a 31-year career in a variety of roles spanning finance, fund settlement and firm-wide diversity initiatives, as well as management roles as branch manager. Hiroko\u2019s experience of working with people with diverse backgrounds deepened her belief in the strength and resilience of organizations which embrace diversity. She joined ELAB as executive director in 2021 bringing her wealth of experience and knowledge of Japanese organizations to support education in classrooms in Japan. Hiroko is a program instructor, designing and delivering programs at ELAB for students and educators.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

  • This is a great opportunity to reflect deeply on yourself and others. I recommend it to anyone looking for new challenges and encounters. Joining an English group is also very meaningful, as it allows you to practice expressing your opinions in English. (B1)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Regardless of your artistic ability, this workshop allowed me to naturally reflect on my inner self and my future.   • Whether you are into art or not, this is a must workshop. It allows you to have a couple of hours of introspection, where you can explore how art might help to channel your emotions.
