Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In this workshop, participants will explore cutting-edge prototypes and ideas emerging from Silicon Valley while experiencing the process of “expanding interpretation” to develop new solutions. Additionally, participants will receive insights and practical tips on creating visual prototypes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ideation method used in this workshop is based on design thinking but has been uniquely developed by the facilitator, Mr. Iijima. Rather than simply following a fixed process, the key is to experiment and adapt the method to fit your own style. Enjoy the discovery of new approaches and perspectives!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Silicon Valley Now<\/strong>
    A firsthand report on futuristic product prototypes and emerging trends from the perspective of a Silicon Valley-based product designer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. “Expanding Interpretation” Workshop<\/strong>
    Participants will be divided into teams of 4-6 and apply the “expanding interpretation” method to generate new solutions.
    The facilitator will provide real-time feedback via online video conferencing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3.  Reflection & Wrap-up<\/strong>
    Teams will present their proposals and engage in a collective reflection session.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Takahiro Iijima<\/strong>
    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Chief Design Officer, Founder, Persistence of Vision<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After working as an industrial designer and director at Panasonic, Mr. Iijima moved to Silicon Valley in 2014 as the head of Panasonic\u2019s U.S. design hub. He later founded Persistence of Vision Inc., where he currently serves as Chief Design Officer. His work in robotics, AI, and IoT future concepts has garnered industry recognition for its innovative approach.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    • I realized that by expanding interpretations, even seemingly unrelated ideas could take on new meanings. When we are confined to existing frameworks, it’s harder to accept different viewpoints. This workshop helped me become more open-minded and encouraged productive discussions in group work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • When brainstorming future technologies in our group, I found it fascinating how each member\u2019s field of expertise influenced their ideas. It was exciting to integrate these perspectives, and removing feasibility constraints made the process feel much more creative and enjoyable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • I found it interesting and exciting to come up with our own ideas, even if they were not directly related to the theme, and to see them lead to the creation of new works.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
