Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Money shapes not only our daily lives but also many of the decisions we make, through part-time jobs, career choices, research funding, investments, tuition, and living expenses. Yet we may have few opportunities to think carefully or talk with others about what money means to us when we receive, spend, or save it, and what guides our choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this workshop, participants will reflect on their past experiences with money and use games and dialogue to explore the images and values they associate with it, as well as the criteria behind their money-related decisions. Encountering perspectives different from their own will help them reconsider ways of relating to money that may have seemed natural or obvious. The workshop offers an opportunity to ask, \u201cWhat does money mean to me?\u201d and \u201cHow do I want to relate to money and society in the future?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Main Content<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This workshop consists of four sessions. Participants will gradually broaden their perspective\u2014from \u201cmy past\u201d to \u201cmy present,\u201d then to \u201cothers\u201d and \u201csociety\u201d\u2014as they explore their relationship with money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Reflect on your past experiences with money and consider the images and ideas you have developed about it. Begin with a small-group conversation about what money means to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Consider how you relate to money today. Review how you use money in daily life and what matters to you when spending it. Questions such as \u201cWhat do I want to spend money on?\u201d and \u201cWhy?\u201d will help you examine your values more closely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Develop your own questions and talk freely about money. Hearing from people with different values can help you reconsider assumptions you have taken for granted and discover new perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Experience decision-making through a game involving money. Reflect on your choices and how they differ from those of others, and consider what you value when making decisions and how you want to engage with society through money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Students interested in entrepreneurship and initiating personal projects will find great value in the Effectuation workshop. This workshop focuses on leveraging one's strengths and tapping into their network to solve problems. It is an opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn how to approach challenges resourcefully by engaging with other people who can offer guidance and support. (D2)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Thanks for this workshop, to make me learn about another way to think and conceive our current research or the future innovation work. It also let me know about the importance of using the ability of my acquaintance and friends.
