We are excited to host a design workshop facilitated by Mr. Isomura, who has experience in usability design at Fujifilm, studied in Denmark, and now thrives as a social entrepreneur. This 4-hour workshop, adapted for Science Tokyo, is based on a program originally designed for design majors. Participants will enjoy exploring unique materials and creating innovative ideas through a hands-on process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Message from the facilitator<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ideas are not just something you think of in your head. Your hands create something, your mind reacts to it, and then your hands move again. This repeated process stimulates your mind, giving birth to new ideas. This isn’t exclusive to designers. Regardless of whether you’re good at drawing or not, ideas emerge once something is visualized in some way. In this workshop, we will foster psychological safety to generate ideas through interactive art appreciation. From there, participants will spontaneously identify problems and create prototypes on the spot. Additionally, by experimenting with different material functions, you’ll create a second, brand-new prototype. Enjoy the shift and expansion of ideas that could never be born from just thinking alone. You’ll be devising improvement ideas for everyday items. Through fun activities like observation, group brainstorming, rapid prototyping, and combining materials, you can experience a variety of approaches to design and idea generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop can be counted as part of the graduate courses \u2018Fundamental Group Work for Leadership I\/II\u2019 and \u2018Master\u2019s\/Doctoral Essential Group Work for Leadership.\u2019 If you are interested in enrolling in these courses, please attend the course orientation<\/a> first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also welcome participants who wish to join the workshop without earning credits (Open Participation). If you would like to participate as an Open Participant, please register using the form below. The form can also be used by the students who want to use it as a SPRING event participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISOMURA<\/strong> Ayumu<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Co-chairman of Fukufukuplus Corporation, co-chairman of Shibuya Font Inc., teaching at Kuwasawa Design School<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He graduated from Kanazawa College of Art in 1989 and joined Fuji\ufb01lm as a designer. In 2006, he became the head of the Usability Design Group at Fuji\ufb01lm, where he promoted important strategies for the design division. After leaving the company, he studied in Denmark and learned about the pioneering e\ufb00orts of social inclusion. After returning to Japan, established Fukufuku Plus. In April 2021, he was appointed as co-representative of the Shibuya Font General Incorporated AssociaRon, and in 2022, he built and promoted the Local Font Project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
