Call for Participants to the Briefing Meetings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three briefing sessions for the “Entrepreneurship Workshop: PBC (Programming Boot Camp) 2026” will be held. Two sessions will take place from late July to early August (during the 2nd quarter), and one will be held in early October (during the 3rd quarter).

This program is conducted hackathon-style. Participants will propose a web service they “wish existed,” form teams, and develop it from scratch over a short period of four days, including a three-day camp. Six to eight professional web application developers will accompany and support you throughout the event.

To get started, please attend one of the briefing sessions. Three sessions will be held as follows. While attending any single session is sufficient, we highly recommend participating in the first or second session (held during the 2nd quarter) if possible. This will give you more time to think about your web application theme and look for potential team members.

About PBC (Programming Boot Camp) 2026<\/strong><\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Purpose<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This program is conducted hackathon-style, where participants propose a new web service they “wish existed,” form a team, and develop it from scratch over a short four-day period, which includes a three-day camp. Six to eight professional web application developers will accompany and support you. Through these activities, the program aims to foster your “leadership” and “entrepreneurship” to create new value and make a meaningful impact on society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participating Students and Course Application<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This program is open to all Science Tokyo students, regardless of whether they are undergraduate or graduate students. You can earn credits (applicable to both undergraduate and graduate students) and GA (for graduate students) by taking the following courses. You can also participate in this program without taking the courses, though credits will not be awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Program outline and schedule<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
1. Information Exchange and Team Building Phase (Until Early November)<\/strong><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Proposing the web service theme and assembling the development team:
(1) Propose a new web service idea you wish to develop and form a team (of 3\u20135 members).
(2) You may form a team by inviting lab colleagues (seniors, juniors, or peers) or friends, or you can utilize the two Information Exchange and Team Building Meetings described in (3) below to assemble your team.
(3) Information Exchange and Team Building Meetings:These meetings are mandatory for all students wishing to join the program and will be held twice.
\u3000\u2460 Refining the web service concept: You can refine your idea based on feedback and guidance from professional web application developers.
\u3000\u2461 Recruiting team members: You can recruit students attending the meetings.
\u3000\u2462 Finding a team to join: You can listen to others’ ideas and ask to join their teams.

hase for developing a new web application (Development Phase) (in Dec.)
(1) The web app development will be concentrated over four days in December (one full day + three days training camp). Each team will draw up a development plan and develop it from scratch over the four days. During these four days, professional web app development experts will be with you almost all the time, providing advice and support.
(2) On the final day of the three-day training camp (@Seminar House Crosswave Funabashi<\/a>, the developed apps will be presented and all participants will try out all the developed apps, and the grand prize will be decided by mutual vote of all participants.

3. Phase for Training Programming Skills (Learning Phase) (Every Saturday in November, 4 sessions total)<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

(1) A series of lectures and exercises will be offered to students who wish to participate in the Learning Phase (please note that this phase is not for credit).
(2) The training may cover the use of no-code tools\u2014which enable the creation of UIs and web applications directly in a browser without requiring detailed coding knowledge\u2014as well as AI tools for development. (Please note that the content is subject to change; full details will be announced in early October.)

-It was incredibly fun. The program was so packed with substance that it felt like much more than just three days; it was a fascinating initiative that allowed me to experience both the challenges of development and the true value of working as a team. (M1)

The mentors are incredibly patient and answer questions in a polite, easy-to-understand manner. I participated without much specialized knowledge of web development, but through trial and error\u2014and by leveraging AI\u2014I was able to grasp the fundamental workflow of development. At the same time, I gained a real sense of what AI excels at and where it falls short, prompting me to think deeply about the significance of human involvement. Another major highlight was receiving direct advice from mentors I wouldn’t normally interact with, which made for a highly enriching learning experience. -This program is so great! If you’re interested in learning how to build a web service as a team, even with little to no experience, I believe this program is perfect for you. Having one or two team members with coding experience would be a great advantage, but if not, I don’t think you should worry. The mentors will provide full support to help you. I also think this program is self-paced. It gives you the flexibility to choose your path. Whether you want to build a complex program with the help of AI or a simpler one by writing the code yourself, it’s entirely up to you. You can set your own goals!(M2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
