Entrepreneurship is a skill that can be applied in every situation—whether you pursue a career at a company, enter academia or research, start your own business, or even when interacting with the people around you in your daily life. Building and expanding your personal network is one of the key ways to cultivate this entrepreneurial spirit and skills.
The Academy for Leadership (ToTAL) is honored to welcome Dr. Juan Fra Alvarado Valenzuela, an expert in entrepreneurship education at the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam, to host an online lecture titled “Who You Know Helps You Grow – Networking for Entrepreneurial Scientists” on February 4th.
In the lecture, participants will explore how social connections shape entrepreneurial journeys, moving from awareness of individual networks to a deeper understanding of their role and value. Participants reflect on cultural differences based on their own business connections and discuss practical tips on how awareness is the first step into networking action. The session concludes with a call to action: to intentionally create, nurture, and maintain a reliable safety net of relationships that supports growth, resilience, and learning.
This lecture is open to everyone, including all students, faculty members and staff at Science Tokyo as well as members of the general public.
Please join us for this valuable lecture!
