<Outline of Lean Launchpad Program (LLP)>

  • ToTAL “Lean Launchpad Program” has been designed for Tokyo Tech students based on new business acceleration program initiated by Steve Blank, an serial entrepreneur in Silicon Valley.
  • If you are struggling “how you can launch a new business while you have an idea” or “what you have to study and consider for starting a new business”, you will be able to understand the core to materialize a business from the workshop. If you want to create something with cooperation from others or to gain “leadership”, you can expect to develop your capabilities of consensus-building and communication from the workshop.
  • The main purpose of this program as a part of ToTAL courses is to train and brush up your “leadership” and “entrepreneurship” through exercising business creation based on your business idea. If, however, you are interested in “entrepreneur”, you can expect to gain capabilities for starting new business, and if you have already established a company but not have enough market yet, you can utilize this program as an accelerator program.
  • This workshop is the contents of ToTAL courses “Master’s Practical Group Work for Leadership” and “Doctoral Practical Group Work for Leadership”. Any Tokyo Tech graduate students, not only for ToTAL students, may apply to these courses.
  • This workshop is also “OPEN” system, meaning that any Tokyo Tech students, both graduates and undergraduate students, can take this workshop without registering to the ToTAL courses above. (No credits will be given in this case.)
  • All students selected as members of the program are being requested to attend all 7 rounds of classes in principle.
  • This program is designated as an event for “Cross the border! Tokyo Tech Pioneering Doctoral Research Project”.
  • This workshop will be facilitated by Mr. Takashi Tsutsumi who has long experience in creating new business and supporting startups. He translated Steve Blank’s books “The Four Steps to the Epiphany” and “The Startup Owner’s Manual” into Japanese.
  • Lean Launchpad program was started in 2013 in Tokyo Tech as a part of program of Academy for Global Leadership (AGL). From 2019, this program has been offered to Tokyo Tech students as a part of official course in Tokyo Tech Academy for Leadership (ToTAL).
  • In order to join the program, you need to build a team (up to 4 members). Since 6 teams will be the maximum number of teams to join the program, selection will be made in the 1st round of this program on May 11.
  • Procedures and duties to be done by applying to this program will be explained during the briefings.
