This is a guide to the ToTAL course (can be counted as Entrepreneurship course) “Professionals and Value Creation A/C” to be held in 2Q, AY 2025, and a call for participants to the course. Even if you are not taking the course, if there is a guest speaker session that interests you, you can also participate on a one-off basis.

Purpose of this course

We invite guest speakers who are currently “developing and setting new values” in society to share the background and the current circumstances the guest speaker(s) or their organization faces, as well as the challenges, and delve deep into the guest speaker’s character and communicate with them.
We invite about 3-4 guest speakers each term, and we recommend that students to join a “preliminary information sharing” session before each guest speaker’s session. At the preliminary information sharing session, we share information about pre-assignments and overview of the guest speaker’s organization prepared by the students.

How the guest speaker session will proceed

(1) Presentation by the guest speaker (approximately 1 hour)
(2) Discussion and Q&A on the topic presented by the guest speaker (approximately 1 hour)
*Active participation by students is expected.

The contents of this course will be “Entrepreneurship Theory with DNX Ventures”. (ToTAL of 7 classes)
● DNX Ventures is a venture capital company that originated in Silicon Valley, USA, and operates a venture fund that has nurtured many startups in Japan, including San San. We plan to hold an entrepreneurship theory course inviting startup managers in the company’s investment portfolio over 7 sessions.
● “Entrepreneurship” is the mindset and skills that we would like students to acquire to “develop and set new value”. These mindset and skills can be used by anyone, whether they work for a company, research in academia, or work in a government agency. Among them, the most easily understood result of demonstrating the entrepreneurship mindset and skills is “startups”. Using this as a subject, we will discuss how venture capitalists who nurture startups think, what startups that receive investment think, and how they demonstrate “entrepreneurship”.
● We are aiming to make the course as interactive as possible, so we welcome not only students who are interested in starting their own business or working in companies, but also those who want to work in the academia as researchers in the future.
● Details and schedule will be announced on this page in July.
