Comments from last year’s event participants

  • By thinking about yourself and expressing yourself through drawing, and appreciating your own drawings and those of others, you can become aware of biases in your own way of thinking. I think this workshop is an effective way to get to know yourself. (B1)
  • Through creating and appreciating drawings, you can take the time to think about yourself and your way of thinking, both subjectively and objectively. You can learn and acquire flexible ways of thinking that are related to “entrepreneurship” in a relaxed manner, without being too conscious. (B1)
  • After becoming a university student, I only had access to a computer, but after experiencing drawing for the first time in a long time, I think I was able to realize the importance of verbalization and imagination. I think that science students who have verbalization and imagination will definitely be necessary in the future. You can also interact with various students and make friends with people from various courses and fields, not just your own specialty. (M1)
  • For you who want to get out of your comfort zone, this is the perfect opportunity. I know that some of you who, like me, do not like art and drawing would not even give this a chance. But please, please, give it a try. And you will find out that you can do far more than what you think you can.(B1)
  • I highly recommend this course. Being a foreign student sometimes we think it is difficult to connect with people, and make friends in Japan. This course showed me that you can also connect with people through other means, such as art and expression. It also showed me that we all have projections, fears and dreams.(M1)
  • This is a very unique opportunity to discover yourself though something that we don’t get to enjoy that much, which is Art. I personally found this workshop to be highly motivational since it makes you think about yourself and your feelings. It is something we do not get to do often, but it is very important. And learning to discover your feelings though art is quite enjoyable. Also, you will get to meet new friends and share your thoughts with them. I highly recommend you take this opportunity to discover yourself in a different way though Art.(M2)
