Participants will propose a new web service app idea they think would be great to have, form a team, and develop it from scratch over a short four-day period, including a three-day training camp, in a “hackathon” style. Six to eight professional web application development experts will accompany you and provide support as mentors.

Overview
- This course is a program positioned at the last “Social Implementation Stage” of the three stages of entrepreneurship education: “Motivation and Awareness-raising Stage,” “Competency Formation Stage,” and “Social Implementation Stage.”
- To create new web service, it is necessary to logically and comprehensively demonstrate the so-called “leadership” and “entrepreneurship” elements, such as extracting problems and setting issues, developing new ideas and prototypes, empathizing with users, verifying hypotheses, and sharing social trends, needs, and visions.
- This program is the perfect program for you to demonstrate the “leadership” and “entrepreneurship” you have cultivated so far and develop the knowledge and experience to implement new value in society.
- In Programming Boot Camp (PBC), you will work on development as a team project while building consensus through logic. You will prototype your ideas with users in mind and experience implementing new value in society.

Main Content
- Participants will propose new web application ideas, form teams with members who agree with them, identify development requirements, determine the division of roles, and experience developing a web application that can withstand user verification from scratch in a short period of time. Participants will recognize that sharing objectives, identifying the appealing points and user benefits of the proposed web application, and thoroughly confirming development items, milestones, and development goals among members are necessary for development in a short period of time.
- Considering the need for intensive development in a short period of time, the need to review development items depending on the development status, the ability to check any unclear points as they arise, and the fact that the programming languages and ability levels of the participating students vary, we will create an environment in which (1) the development will take place in a three-day camp format, and (2) multiple real-world web application development experts will be on-site to provide immediate support and advice to the student teams.
- As this is a hackathon-style program that includes a training camp, the number of participants is limited. In the event of a large number of applications, selection will be made (selection will be made after each participating team pitches at the second information exchange team building meeting).
- We also offer 4 times of “Lecture & Exercise” sessions as Learning Phase in November prior to the start of this course: non-code tool training (for programming beginners) and AI-based programming development, available to those who request it. This will enable even programming novices to participate in development. Additionally, this term will include training on AI-based development, so participants of this program can participate regardless of their programming knowledge.

Past Event Records
Voices from Participants
- Thanks to the expert support, even though I’m a programming beginner, I was able to progress efficiently with development. Using a no-code platform allowed me to collaborate with my team and experience actual app development in a short period of time, which was also very appealing! (M1)
- I recommend this program to anyone who wants to learn databases and data science in a fun and short period of time and then apply what they’ve learned to experience app development. (M2)
- Even if you have no programming or web development experience, I recommend joining PBC if you’re even slightly interested, as the instructors are patient and thorough. While it’s a long-term program, I believe the experience of turning your ideas into reality from scratch, something you can’t get from regular research activities, is extremely stimulating and rewarding. (M2)
- Unlike regular classes, PBC allowed me to acquire practical development skills and teamwork skills. It was a life-changing class for me. (D3)
- Three days of intensive development helped me develop the judgment to decide what to do and what not to do. (D1)
