ToTAL will host a talk session event on November 28 (Thursday) 7:00PM-8:30PM on the topic “The Future of Technology, Society, Education and Career”.

Guest speakers will be both alumini from Tokyo Tech, Mr. Mikito Sugino (Chief Strategy Officer, NewsPicks Inc.) and Mr. Hideyuki Takeuchi (Chief Technologist, UZABASE Inc.)

■About UZABASE Inc.：

Uzabase, Inc. is a business intelligence and media company, which provides both B2B and B2C services. The company was founded in April 2008 in Tokyo, Japan and went public in 2016. It is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Their primary product and service, is a B2B financial information and corporate intelligence platform called “SPEEDA”. On the consumer side, Uzabase is a 100% owner of NewsPicks, which launched in Japan in 2013 as one of the country’s first business media platforms to be optimized for mobile. UZABASE is headquartered in Tokyo, and has operations globally, with offices in New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Sri Lanka.

■About NewsPicks Inc.：

NewsPicks is a mobile-first, business news aggregation and commentary platform that also produces its own original content. The business was founded in Japan in 2013 as one of the country’s first business media platforms to be optimized for mobile. ■About Mr. Mikito Sugino：Executive Vice President and CSO（Chief Strategy Officer), NewsPicks Inc., Tokyo Tech aluminus)

Graduated from Tokyo Tech School of Engineering, owns a MBA degree from INSEAD, and a doctoral degree from Waseda University School of Commerce. Joined NewsPicks Inc. after working a NTT DoCoMo, and A.T. Kearney. He is a specially appointed professor at Tokyo University of Agricultere and Technology, and a CMT advisor at A.T. Kearney. He is currently a member of the evaluation committee of promoting recurrent education at MEXT.

■About Mr. Hideyuki Takeuchi：(Chief Technologist of UZABASE Inc., Technology Partner of UB Ventures, Inc., Tokyo Tech aluminus)

Born in 1981, he graduated from Tokyo Tech School of Science (Department of Information Sciences), and founded two companies during his master’s course at Tokyo Tech, and developed many sevices including hardware-related consumer services and services now called CDN. His personal best record in Japanese archery club is 19 hits out of 20 at an official match. He joined UZABASE Inc. from its startup in 2008, and as an engineer, he developed the basis of SPEEDA, NewsPicks, FORCAS, services provided by UZABASE. He has received numerous awards such as, CTO of the Year 2014 TechCrunch Tokyo CTO Night powered by AWS, Technology Edge prize of Microsoft Innovation Award 2015, Prime Minister award of STAT DASH Grand Prix 2016, The 14th Statistical Education Award by Japan Statistical Society in 2018.
