Find your core values through dialogue.

Overview

When considering our future careers, we often focus on practical conditions such as job descriptions, compensation, or location. However, few of us have had the opportunity to deeply consider our personal values and what matters most to us, or what kind of environment would allow us to work in a way that feels true to ourselves. This workshop aims to help participants make future career choices with greater confidence by exploring their personal values through dialogue with others. By taking time to reflect on your thoughts and experiences, we hope this workshop will give you the opportunity to think more proactively about your future career.

Main Content

The workshop consists of two main sessions.

In the first session, participants will reflect on their life experiences that have influenced them. Through dialogue and individual reflection, they will aim to gain a clearer understanding of their own values.

The second session involves game-based dialogue activities that explore the values identified in the first session in depth. By making these values more concrete, participants will then consider how they may relate to future career choices.

Voices from Participants

  • I had thought that curiosity and excitement were my main sources of motivation, but I realized that the sense of security I gain from trusting relationships with others may actually be what motivates me to take on new challenges.
  • Through the workshop, I learned that our values can change through our relationships with other people. It was a valuable experience, and I am truly glad that I participated.
  • By looking at my life as a whole, past, present, and future, and imagining choices not only from my current perspective but also from the perspective of my future self after gaining more career experience, I was able to clarify what I want to prioritize in both my research activities and career development.
