■About Mr. Hiroki Azuma:

Philosopher and author born in 1971. He specializes in contemporary philosophy, culture and representation studies and information society studies.

He is the founder and former representative of Genron Co., Ltd., a publisher that issues a critic magazine “Genron”.

He has written numerous books including “Otaku: Japan’s Database Animals” and won prizes such as the 21st Suntory Prize for Social Sciences and Humanities, the 23rd Mishima Yukio Prize, and the 71st Mainichi Publishing Culture Prize in the Social Sciences and Humanities Division.
