Entrepreneurship is a skill that is essential in every situation—whether you plan to start your own business in the future, join a company, or pursue a career in research. Even during the inevitable turning points in life, there will be moments when you need to draw upon that entrepreneurial spirit.

At the Center for Entrepreneurship Education, we are pleased to invite Mr. Kyle Oura, who has extensive experience founding and managing businesses in the senior housing and services sector in the United States, to deliver an online lecture in English titled “How to Pivot History: Hard-Earned Start-up Lessons & Positioning for Big Trends.”

Mr. Oura will primarily share his personal experiences regarding: 1) the challenges he faced on his path to entrepreneurship after working as a corporate employee and during periods of unemployment, and 2) how he responded and made decisions during pivotal moments in his life. Furthermore, he will offer advice on how to prepare for life’s turning points and lead a discussion and Q&A on how to navigate hardships and pivotal moments in both entrepreneurship and life.

The event is open to everyone. (Members from the general public outside of Science Tokyo are asked to participate online.)
The lecture will be held online via Zoom and projected in Workshop Room 2 on the B2 floor of Taki Plaza.
You are welcome to participate or observe while enjoying your lunch.

*This is a certified event of Center for Entrepreneurship Education. Students who attend this lecture and complete the post-event survey will earn 1 entrepreneurship point. Entrepreneurship points count toward the course “ENT.B211: Science, Technology, Culture, Society and Innovation 1 (1 credit),” which is available to undergraduate students enrolled in the 2024 academic year or later.
