Outline
In this IdeaThon workshop, participants will be trained in one day to create business ideas using the methodology of “Design Thinking”.
“Business” is aiming to provide products and/or services that users can empathize with and collect the “compensation” for them. The concept is exactly the same in any fields including research, NPO/NGO activities, and corporate activities, whether large companies or start-ups. Of course, compensation includes profit. That’s why the business can continue. Even so-called “social projects” cannot be sustained if expenses continue to be carried out. Gaining empathy from users means that the value of the product or service matches their needs, and that they are willing to pay for it.
In this workshop, we will create business ideas that users can empathize with while considering the above concepts.
In order to determine whether the idea will be viable as a “business”, it is necessary to verify whether you can clarify customers who are willing to pay “compensation”. This can be done through “Lean Launchpad” program (LLP) which will be held as ToTAL course (Entrepreneurship) Course of “(Master’s/Doctoral) Practical Group Work for Leadership I/II S (0-2-0, GA)” for graduate students (both master’s and doctoral students) and Entrepreneurship Course of “Bachelor’s Practical Group Work for Value Creation (0-2-0)”. So this IdeaThon workshop is also positioned as an introductory program for LLP. If, therefore, you are planning to join LLP in the next term (1Q2Q, AY2025), participation in this “IdeaThon” workshop is strongly recommended. However, even if you are not planning to participate in LLP, you are still welcome to participate in this IdeaThon workshop.
