The tuition fee exemption and the opportunity to have a 3-month off-campus project were the main reasons I joined ToTAL. The program’s workload is not too heavy, so I can balance my leadership studies with research activities. Plus, being in ToTAL simplifies the tuition fee exemption process I would otherwise go through every year.

Attending ToTAL classes has broadened my perspective and social circle. The classes are fun and interactive. I learned various kinds of leadership skills from others through practice. I have a lot of support and freedom to practice my leadership skills (through being a TA or organizing events). Since I get to interact with people from different majors, my life isn’t just all about home and the lab. It’s been great to have less stress and more variety in my day-to-day activities.

And here’s a bonus benefit: the communication skills I’ve developed in ToTAL have helped me improve my interactions with my academic supervisor.

(Staff comment) Ms. Goo, who loves to travel, is very curious and enjoys listening to people’s stories with great interest. She immediately makes those around her feel cheerful. Her presence as a TA is very helpful to the lecturers because she makes the class more active.
