Introduction
2 kinds of workshops about future society are introduced below.
■ Workshop #1: Future Foresight Workshop (2 days) “Designing Future Society in 10-15 Years Later”
■ Workshop #2: Capturing Multi-perspectives Workshop (2days) “Considering Human Behavior in that Future Society”
Above two workshops can be attended separately as independent workshops, but since they share common themes and methodologies, joining both of workshops are recommended.
If you would like to attend either one or both of the workshops, please register using the application form below.

Workshop #1: Future Foresight Workshop
Outline
・Unlike “forecast”, which creates ideas as an extension of the current situation, Future Foresight envisions multiple future possibilities and then considers the path to get there as a scenario, so it is a methodology that uses “backcast” to correct the course of a strategy.
・Utilizing horizon scanning methods to capture signs of uncertain change and forced thinking (brainstorming), we proactively design a future 10-15 years from now that no one has ever thought of before.
・It is important to have a mindset that critically questions existing ways of looking at things and relationships that you are familiar with, and challenges yourself with bias breaking and reframing (redefining the problem) to creatively break them down.

Workshop #2: Capturing Multi-perspectives Workshop
Outline
・When considering the complex issues facing modern society or when trying to envision and design a future society, the key should be how concretely we can envision them. In this case, it is important not to think about things from the local perspective of “I” or the abstract concept of “society,” but to be able to imagine “society as a place where diverse individuals gather and interact,” which will make the society we envision more realistic.
・In this workshop, using an anthropological approach based on fieldwork and other research, we will write and act out a script for the ideal future created in the previous “Future Foresight” workshop.
Date and Time | [Day 1] Wednesday, February 12, 2025, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. [Day 2] Wednesday, February 19, 2025, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. |
